During Fall Semester 2009, renowned textile/fiber/material artist Cat Chow spent an extended residence at the University of Northern Iowa, interacting with both theater and textile & apparel majors. She began her visit with a presentation of her accumulated body of art work, and opened a two-week exhibition of her creations at the UNI Gallery of Art. In addition, she held a design work shop with textile & apparel students and is working with the theater department to create costumes for the upcoming staging of Marat Sade. Some of the photographs show students working on the Marat Sade costumes, which include quilted inmate costumes, knitted tubes and large quantities of chain mail.
